Violet Richardson Award

Each year, Soroptimist International of Glendale presents the Violet Richardson Award to a girl between the ages of 14 and 17 whose volunteer activities make the community a better place. The Violet Richardson Award is not an academic scholarship. It is named in honor of the president of the first Soroptimist club, Violet Richardson, a woman of action whose indomitable spirit and sense of personal responsibility were demonstrated by her lifelong commitment to volunteering in her community. The award comes with a cash grant for the girl being recognized, as well as a cash grant for the charity with which she volunteers.  The 2012 Award will be presented at a luncheon on Thursday March 15, 2012.
